Trade & Taxation Division deals with matters related to Trade and Taxation related work in the Ministry i.e basic customs duty, import duty, Anti-Dumping Duty, Minimum Import Price (MIP) and Safeguard Duty relating to steel products. India is member of OECD Steel Committee and Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity (GFSEC). This section deals with meeting/issues related to GFSEC. This Division is also require to closely monitor issues related to domestic steel industry and proposes taxes and duties for steel items for consideration during Union Budget proposals. TTD also receive a number of representations for examination from steel associations on various trade related issues.

This Division also deals with matters relating to Safeguard measures/ WTO issues/ FTAs/ RCEP etc Issues.

This Division also deals with matters relating to UNDP schemes, submitting of PIB/EFC/SFC proposals before Deptt. of Expenditure, NITI Ayog etc.

Over and above, this Division also deals with large number of Parliament Questions both starred and un-starred, grievances on CP Grams, RTI etc.


VSP DESK ( VISAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT) (As on 15.09.2014)
